Upcoming Changes for Customers Paying with PayPal

Notice:

As of November 27, 2023, the Gravity Flow website will no longer accept PayPal as a payment method for purchases or renewals.

To help with this transition, we have collated the most common questions about it in the following guide. If you have additional questions, please contact our Support Team

Who is affected by this change?

This affects any current customer with an active Gravity Flow product subscription who is using PayPal as the source for subscription renewal payments. On November 27, 2023, all existing PayPal subscriptions will show as canceled, and any renewal relying on PayPal  will fail to process.

This means your license will expire if your renewal is anytime from that date onwards.

How do I check the payment method on my subscription?

All customers with an active subscription using PayPal have been sent an email to notify them directly of this change. To check your payment method, please log in to your Gravity Flow account. Subscriptions using credit card show an option for updating the payment method. Subscriptions that use PayPal do not have such an option.

Why does my subscription show as canceled?

All active subscriptions using PayPal will show as canceled from November 27th, 2023. They will not renew without action.

Can I continue to use my license key even though it shows as canceled now?

Yes, you can continue to use the license key. The subscription will continue until the expiry date, but the canceled status indicates that it will not auto-renew. Action must be taken to renew your subscriptions.

How do I check my license key expiry date?

Login to your Gravity Flow account and go to Subscriptions. Look for the renewal date on any applicable subscription. If your subscription is canceled, then this is the date your subscription will expire.

If I renew before my license has expired, how will my license term be calculated?

If you renew an unexpired license, your license term will be extended by adding a year to the current expiry date.
For example, if your license expires in Feb 2024 and you renew in November 2023, then your license expiry date will extend to Feb 2025.

What happens if my license key expires?

Refer to this article for full details. In summary:

  1. Updates for security and feature releases will no longer be available to you.
  2. You will no longer have access to downloads on your account page.
  3. You will no longer have access to technical support.

How can I prevent my Gravity Flow licenses from expiring?

You must renew any subscription affected by the changes listed here and use an alternate payment method. You have two options:

  1. Use the link that has been sent to affected customers to renew at a discount—see below.
  2. Purchase new license keys. That will be at the price listed on the pricing page.

I received the renewal link; how do I update my subscription?

Follow these steps:

  1. If still active, cancel your existing PayPal-based subscription. (How do I cancel my subscription?). Your subscription will be canceled automatically on November 27th, 2023, and will not renew after that.
  2. Click the personalized renewal link that you received in the email sent by Gravity Flow. This will put your product in a cart with a recurring 33% discount on your new subscription.

  3. Note that if you have multiple product subscriptions affected, you will need to do this for each product. A separate email with a renewal link has been sent for each.
  4. Complete the normal checkout process using a credit card

Once completed successfully, your subscription(s) should be active again, and your license term will be updated.

Where can I find my personalized renewal link with a discount?

The link has been sent to all affected customers via email. Check your spam or bulk messages if you cannot find it. You should receive a separate email with a link for  each affected subscription. If you cannot find the email or you are having problems with the link, please contact Support.

When I accepted cookies on the site, my discount was lost.

For some users, after clicking the renewal link and getting a populated cart with the renewal ready to checkout, the cookie accept/configure popup appears, and making a choice then clears your cart.

If that happens, just paste your emailed renewal link in manually and try again.
